Carrier VS Clear

-
What does "carrier" mean?
-
Being a carrier means that the dog has inherited one variant of a genetic condition. The dogs health is not affected.
-

-
What does "clear" mean?
-
Being clear means that dog does not have any variants of a genetic condition and will not pass any genetic conditions to his/her offspring.
-

-
What happens when you breed a carrier?
-
A carrier must only be bred to a clear. When a carrier is bred to a clear, approximately 50% of the offspring will inherit one variant of the genetic condition making them carriers while the other 50% will be clear. If two carriers are bred, it is possible that approximately 25% of the offspring will be affected by the genetic condition. We only breed our carriers to clear mates.
